Ultra Running Hub is an independent reference for ultra marathon and trail running. It exists because finding a race that fits you — the right distance, the right terrain, a cutoff you can actually make, on a weekend you are free — is still harder than it should be. Race information is scattered across organiser sites in a dozen languages, half of it out of date.
What is here
- A race database covering thousands of ultras worldwide, filterable by distance, terrain, country, month and format, with a calendar you can subscribe to.
- Training plans for 50K, 100K and 100 miles across road, trail and mountain, plus a generator that adapts a plan to a specific race date.
- Gear guides covering shoes, packs, poles, lighting and nutrition.
- Articles on pacing, fuelling, cutoffs and race preparation.
Where the race data comes from
Race records are aggregated from publicly available sources — principally the DUV Ultramarathon Statistics database and organisers' own websites — and then normalised into a consistent shape: one distance unit, one date format, one terrain vocabulary.
Aggregated data carries aggregated errors. Dates move, courses change, elevation figures are frequently reported inconsistently or not at all, and some entries carry obvious transcription mistakes. Where a figure looks implausible we suppress it rather than display it. Always confirm details with the organiser before you enter or travel. Where we hold an official website for a race, it is linked on the race page.
If you spot something wrong — or you organise a race and want its entry corrected or added — please tell us. Corrections from organisers and runners are the fastest way this database gets better.
How we use AI
We are open about this because you should be able to judge what you are reading. Parts of this site are drafted with the help of large language models: article first drafts, summaries of gear reviews collected from around the web, and the structure of generated training plans. Race records themselves are not invented by a model — they come from the sources above.
AI-drafted material is reviewed before publication, and we would rather publish fewer, better pages than more thin ones. If you find a page that reads as filler or states something incorrect, that is a bug — please report it.
How this site is funded
Ultra Running Hub is free to read. It is supported by display advertising and by affiliate links: if you buy gear through a link here, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are marked, and a product's placement is never sold — we do not accept payment for a recommendation or a review score. See the Terms and Privacy Policy for detail.
