This policy explains what Ultra Running Hub collects, why, and what you can do about it. The controller for this data is Ultra Running Hub, reachable at [email protected].
The short version: you can read this entire site without giving us anything. We only get personal data if you hand it over — by joining the email list, requesting a training plan, or creating an account.
What we collect
When you just browse
Our host, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and request metadata to serve pages and protect the site against abuse. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures page views and referrers without cookies and without building a profile of you across sites. We do not run Google Analytics.
When you give us your email
If you join the training list we store your email address, the distance you selected, the page you signed up from, and the timestamp — so we can send the weekly plan emails you asked for. If you request a personalised training plan we also store the race, date and training details you enter, because they are the inputs the plan is built from.
When you create an account
Accounts use a sign-in link sent to your email address; we do not store a password. We keep your email, session records, and the training plans saved to your account.
Cookies and advertising
Advertising on this site is served by Google, including through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to serve and measure ads, and — if you consent — to personalise them. You can review and change your choices at any time through the consent tool shown on the site, and manage Google's ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com. Google's own handling of this data is described in its privacy and terms for partner sites.
In the EEA and UK, non-essential cookies are set only after you consent, and you may withdraw consent at any time. Strictly necessary cookies — the ones that keep you signed in and remember your consent choice — are set regardless, because the site cannot function without them.
Affiliate links
Some links to retailers are affiliate links, principally through the Amazon Associates programme. If you follow one, the retailer will set its own cookies and apply its own privacy policy, which we do not control. We may earn a commission on a resulting purchase, at no extra cost to you. We record that a link was clicked so we know which guides are useful; we do not receive your payment details or know what you ultimately bought.
Who else processes your data
- Cloudflare — hosting, database, email delivery, analytics.
- Google — advertising and consent management.
- Amazon — affiliate programme, only if you click through.
- AI providers (Cloudflare Workers AI, Google Gemini) — used to draft content and generate training plans. The inputs you give a plan request are sent for that purpose. We do not send your email address or account identifiers.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your email address with advertisers.
Legal bases
- Consent — marketing emails and non-essential/advertising cookies.
- Contract — running your account and producing a training plan you requested.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the site secure and understanding aggregate traffic.
How long we keep it
Email-list entries are kept until you unsubscribe, then retained only as a suppression record so we do not email you again by mistake. Account data and saved plans are kept until you delete your account. Server and security logs are short-lived and handled under Cloudflare's retention.
Your rights
You can request access to your data, correction, deletion, a portable copy, or restriction of processing, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email [email protected] with the subject Privacy request. Every marketing email also carries a one-click unsubscribe that takes effect immediately.
If you are in the EEA or UK and think we have handled your data badly, you may complain to your national data protection authority. In Sweden that is IMY.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will update this page when our processing changes, and the date at the top will change with it. Material changes affecting the email list will be announced by email.
