Overview

Genova Trail took place in Genova, Italy, packing 2700 meters of elevation gain into a 45-kilometer mountain course. With 60 meters of climbing per kilometer, the profile demanded serious vertical endurance over relatively short terrain.

The 10-hour time limit required an average pace of 13.3 minutes per kilometer. That cut-off was more generous than 64% of marathon-distance peers and tighter than 36%, giving runners reasonable breathing room on the climbs despite the heavy ascent.

With 165 finishers in 2026 across 4 editions since 2023, the event fielded a crowd bigger than 78% of marathon fields and smaller than 21%, operating at an entry fee of 40-50 Euro.
