The Big Butts 100 km, a trail race organised by MUTS (MS Ultra and Trail Society), takes place in Clinton-Jackson, MS in July. With 10 editions run since 2017, this 100 km event has a small field, bigger than only 5% of 317 peer 100k races. The latest edition in 2026 saw 4 finishers.

Runners face a tight 14-hour cut-off, which is stricter than 75% of 214 peer 100k races. This means maintaining a pace faster than 8.4 minutes per kilometre. The course consists of 8 to 10-mile loops on both the Mississippi College cross country Choctaw Trails and Butts Park single track trails.
