Overview
Organised by Michael Petry in Lünen, Germany, the Lüner Lippeauen Ultra was a 50k trail race held in July. The 8-hour time limit demanded a minimum pace of 9.6 minutes per kilometre, setting a cut-off tighter than 84% of 50k races and more generous than only 16%.
The course routed runners through the local Lippe floodplain near the glider airfield and Alstedde, using hiking paths surfaced with water-bound dolomite. Competitors circled a loop with a main aid station located at the start and finish alongside an additional water point positioned midway through the circuit.
With 16 finishers in its 2026 edition, the event had a smaller field than 73% of 50k peers and stood bigger than 26%, providing an uncrowded race day for an entry fee of 45€.
