Overview

The Run for Kids 12 Hour Challenge, organised by Southeastern Trail Runs and Mountain High Outfitters, is a timed road race on a loop in Pelham, AL. Now in its tenth edition, this event offers 12 hours of running for an entry fee of $110 USD. The course features 45m of elevation gain on a 6-mile loop for the first 11 hours, then switches to a shorter 0.9-mile loop for the final hour.

Unlike most 50k events, the race is measured by the clock, not by a set distance. This format means runners determine their own distance within the 12-hour limit.
