Overview

The Snowdonia Trail Ultra Marathon packed 2200 meters of ascent into a 57-kilometer route starting in Llanberis, demanding an average of 38.6 meters of climbing per kilometer. Organized by Always Aim High Events, the July trail race tested runners on sustained mountain terrain across its 5 editions held between 2018 and 2024.

Despite the vertical load, the 12-hour limit was more generous than 60% of 50k cut-offs, requiring a manageable 12.6 minutes per kilometer to beat the clock. The latest edition in 2024 saw 163 finishers, maintaining a crowd bigger than 88% of 50k fields against a peer group of 2747 events. Entry fees ranged from £95 to £105.
