Overview
Held in Solang Valley, India, the Solang SkyUltra 60km packed 3600 meters of elevation gain into a 57-kilometer mountain course. That density translated to 63.2 meters of ascent per kilometer, demanding sustained climbing power over high-angle terrain rather than standard trail running speed.
Despite the severe profile, the 15-hour time limit provided substantial breathing room. Requiring a minimum pace of 15.8 minutes per kilometer, the cut-off was more generous than 83% of 50k peers and tighter than only 17%, allowing runners to manage steep ascents without immediate clock pressure.
The 2025 edition saw 23 finishers on the mountain. Compared across 2753 peer events, the race had a smaller field than 63% of 50k races and was bigger than 36%, maintaining low trail congestion throughout the route.
