Overview
Stort 30 covers a 48-kilometer out-and-back trail route alongside the River Stort from Bishop's Stortford, turning around at the 15-mile mark. The 8-hour time limit requires maintaining a steady 10-minute-per-kilometer pace, producing a cut-off tighter than 78% of 50k peers and more generous than only 22%. Runners cannot afford extended stops along the river path if they hope to beat the clock.
First held in 2015, the event drew 74 finishers in 2025, placing it in a bracket bigger than 70% of 50k fields and smaller than 29%. Challenge Running Ltd. will stage the next edition on October 25, 2026, with entry fees set between £35 and £55.
