Mont Blanc
RunRepeat found the Altra Mont Blanc to have a peppy and supportive midsole, providing rigidity and propulsion, and also praised its remarkable traction. iRunFar noted that the shoe's midsole design and construction work well for protection and support longer trail runs on gentle to less challenging technical trails. Road Trail Run appreciated the shoe's comfortable damping and the new EGO MAX midsole, which promises good propulsion, and also highlighted the excellent grip thanks to the Vibram Megagrip outsole. However, RunRepeat criticized the shoe's painful lacing and lack of heel lock, while iRunFar preferred the Carbon model for its propulsive support and speed, especially on hill-based runs.
