Mafate 5

RunRepeat found the Hoka Mafate 5 to deliver a plush, energetic ride that excels over long distances, with a breathable-yet-durable knit upper and a roomy fit. They also noted that the Vibram Megagrip outsole offers outstanding traction and durability. iRunFar agreed that the shoe runs true to size and has a comfortable toebox, but both iRunFar and RunRepeat criticized the tongue design, with iRunFar finding it to be short and thin, and prone to biting the front of the ankle. Road Trail Run praised the shoe's plush and soft yet energetic midsole, and its generous upper with plenty of room for most feet, while also noting the effective segmented Vibram Megagrip outsole.
