The Izu Trail Journey is a 70 km trail race with 3120 meters of elevation gain, taking place in Matsuzaki, Shizuoka Pref., Japan. The course's 44.6 meters of climb per kilometer makes it a challenging event. With a time limit of 14 hours, the cut-off is more generous than 63% of 50-mile races, allowing a pace of 12 minutes per kilometer.
This race is bigger than 99% of 50-mile fields, drawing 899 finishers in its latest edition. The Izu Trail Running Race Committee has organized this event since 2016, with the 10th edition scheduled for December 2026.
